Honeymoons and Romantic Escapes
Bride’s Magazine named the Charleston area,
highlighting Kiawah Island, as one of the world’s best post-wedding destinations for
honeymooning couples. Kiawah Island is also rated as having the "Second Most
Romantic Beach in America" by National Geographic Traveler. Kiawah Island
is unique among the barrier islands, unlike Hilton Head or Myrtle Beach, commercial development is virtually non-existent. This island was
meticulously planned to be environmentally sound and very relaxing. A semi-tropical climate hosts alligators
(often seen basking in the sun on the banks of Kiawah's many lagoons), sea turtles, bobcats and some very friendly dolphins.
Along with over 40 miles of bike trails, there are five world-class golf courses, several tennis courts, and 10 miles of the most
beautiful beach on the Altantic Coast! Other activities available on Kiawah Island
include boating, sailing, surfing, parasailing, canoeing, kayaking, shelling, fishing, sightseeing and plenty of wildlife viewing.
Charleston – Your Perfect Honeymoon Destination
Planning your perfect wedding starts from the moment your engagement is announced and involves everything from the engagement party, through to the honeymoon
and not forgetting the wedding service and reception. Without a doubt, one of the main things to plan is the honeymoon. This will be your first holiday as a
married couple, and the perfect destination is essential; one such destination is Charleston, South Carolina. Charleston has everything you could possibly
need for your honeymoon destination. There is an excellent mix of history, culture, luxury and relaxation to make it a time away to remember. A short cruise
could be the best solution you are looking for where you will be spoilt as you deserve. Cruise ships are amazing and with a range of

from you will have the perfect opportunity to relax, recharge and enjoy the start of a new chapter in your life.
Where to Stay
There are some beautiful hotels, guest houses and apartments to rent in Charleston that will provide you with the comfort and luxury you need while on your
honeymoon; but, for that little extra, book at least part of your stay at Kiawah Island.
It is just 30 minutes outside of downtown Charleston, and you can
book one of a range of cottages or apartments that are beautifully styled in comfort and elegance. Many have sea views and are close to the beach to keep
your journey short and limit the time you spend travelling on your relaxing honeymoon. Another reason to spend time on the island is the super range of
facilities that you have access to if you decide that the beach is not for you every day. You can choose from golf, tennis, hiking, boating, and even
shopping, either together or separately and then meeting up at one of the islands restaurants to catch up and share your experiences.
