Visit Charleston's magnificent, historic, working, waterfront and experience the sights and sounds of ships and tugs, of row boats and tall ships, of sea birds and dolphins. The Festival is FREE, and offers something for all ages, and is a great time for families to spend time together. Several main attractions at this year's festival will be numerous tall ships from around the world open for public tours as well as the Spirit of South Carolina pilot schooner being built for the citizens of South Carolina. The shipwrights will be busily working as they create a living legacy of our maritime past.

Calendar and Highlights

  • Thursday
    *7am-11am - Vendor set-up
    *Noon to 5pm - Festival Officially Open to the Public - Marine exhibits, wooden boat displays, craft tents, children's village, fine art tent, food, drinks.
    *5pm- 7pm - Meet the Artists and VIP reception (Artist Tent)
    *6pm- 9pm - Captain's Bon Voyage Party

  • Friday
    *10am-5pm - Festival Open to Public - Marine exhibits, wooden boat displays, craft tents, children's village, fine art tent, food, drinks.
    *1pm - Family Boat Building Begins (Family Boat Building Tent)

  • Saturday
    *10am-6pm - Festival Open to Public - Marine exhibits, wooden boat displays, family boat building, craft tents, children's village, fine art tent, food, drinks.
    *10am-11am - C2B race boats Parade of Sail
    *Noon- C2B race start
    *6pm-10pm - Party at the Maritime Center w/ music The Charleston Maritime Festival Celebrates Island Rhythms Featuring A Live Caribbean Showcase with Dub Island Soundsystem. Tickets available thru etix.com.

  • Sunday
    *10am-6pm - Festival Open to Public - Marine exhibits, wooden boat displays, family boat building, craft tents, children's village, fine art tent, food, drinks.
    * Noon- Family Boat Building Launch


    On the Water:
    Free sailboat rides by Ocean Sailing Academy Row with the Charleston Mosquito Fleet gigs Watch Remote-Control Model Sailboats


    On the Docks:
    Boats from Charleston to Bermuda race fleet will be on the docks before the start of the race at noon on Saturday
    US NAVY boats including the Office of Naval Research Afloat Lab.
    The Afloat Lab is a test platform for new technologies intended for shipboard use. Formerly classified as a Yard Patrol craft and used to train midshipmen, the Afloat Lab has the same machinery, electronics and navigation systems as the Navy's large fleet ships which makes it an ideal test platform. The Afloat Lab features working demonstrations and exhibits to give visitors a sample of cutting edge Navy science and technology.
